About

Laila was born and raised in Seattle and is a graduate of Scripps College, where she earned degrees in economics and media studies. Professionally, Laila holds a Washington State real estate license and is a registered broker-dealer for securities. Through the study of photographic theory in her senior thesis seminar, she recognized how the female body has historically existed to be on display. Her photography aims to challenge this narrative by capturing the body in ways that resist objectification. In her free time, Laila can be found laughing with her friends, running outside on rare sunny days in Seattle, and almost always listening to music.
